Process

The main inspiration behind my new social rules was Peckham. The town is covered in graffiti, which I, and other students, see on our way to college every day, so including that aspect means every student can (hopefully) understand the reference.

I originally planned to create different rules, along the lines of "Litterers will be burned at the stake", but thought of my final idea when googling what social rules actually are. The black writing on blue background are real social rules, so I wrote those and added red paint to 'graffiti' the rules and make new ones. Although I like how it turned out, the way I dripped the paint does look a bit like blood, which is more morbid than I was going for. However, I think the outdated dollar sign, smiley face and cross through the through bubble make it clear that it's paint, not a murder scene. To expand this idea I would make it on a bigger scale, and use actual spray paint.
